The first official poster for Roman Polanski’s film, The Ghost Writer has been released, and it features Ewan McGregor and an overshadowing Pierce Brosnan. In the midst of all the director’s legal woes he’s still managing to get promotion done for his movies. The last time we saw something for the film, it was the release of the German trailer, and now we’ve got a new one sheet…
The film’s story centers on a young ghostwriter (McGregor) who’s been hired by the former British Prime Minister (Brosnan) to write his personal memoirs. On the surface it appears to be the assignment of a lifetime, but dark forces keep “the ghost” from having a pleasant experience. During his first few days on the job he learns that the Prime Minister isn’t as clean as some might think. He’s actually been accused of several heinous crimes including torture along with aiding and abetting the C.I.A. Amongst these accusations the ghost takes note that his predecessor died in an unfortunate “accident,” which may have been a murder.
Summit Entertainment is distributing the film, which they plan to release sometime next year. Suspense will probably be the key element to this film if the trailer was any indication. I’m just happy to see Brosnan in a leading role of again that doesn’t have him singing or dancing.
