The Mamma Mia! star is planning to make waves this summer with his new hobby -- boating!
“He wants to brush up on his sea-faring skills,” a friend of the actor tells OK!. “He learned how to drive just about every boat there is for James Bond, and in The Thomas Crown Affair, he spent a lot of time on the open water."So taken with boats Pierce is that he's planning to fashion his own vessel for outings to sea with his family, wife Keely Shaye Smith and their children, Dylan, 11, and Paris, 7.
But before the 55-year-old can get his hand on his own toy, he plans on retreating to a tropical island with his wife before he starts production on The Greatest and The Thomas Crown Affair sequel for a romantic getaway.
"Pierce says there’s nothing like being alone on the ocean with your loved ones,"
Then without missing a beat, Brosnan wings to Berlin where he'll star in the adaptation of Robert Harris's novel, The Ghost. At the director's helm is Roman Polanski with Nicholas Cage, Tilda Swinton, and Kim Cattrall rounding out the acting credits.
"I love being an actor. I love everything I have ever done. Whether the audience liked it or not was sometimes painful, sometimes not, but I just love being an actor. I love the life of acting, reading and literature. Seriously, what drives me is to do good work, to make good movies, and work with the best people possible," he said.
