The Ghost

The German island Sylt will become the main location for the film "The Ghost" after the novel by Robert Harris. The films tells a fictional story about former UK prime minister Tony Blair and deals with the question why he supported president Bush's decision to start a war with Iraq ("Bush's poodle"). I found the novel most thrilling and entertaining.
The film will be starring Olivia Williams, Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Jim Belushi and Kim Catrall.Sylt has much in common with Martha's Vineyard - similar landscape, dunes, luxury villas, celebrities..But in order to make it look like Martha's Vineyard, they will install American street signs and aboveground power lines (in Germany, power lines are underground).The outdoor shootings will happen in March, while the studio shootings are currently taken at Babelsberg Studios in Potsdam (also a worthy travel destination).
The film is directed by Roman Polanski.
